Meet Bryan D. Thiriot

Rooted in St. George, Committed to Our Future.

A Fifth-Generation Native with Deep Local Roots

Bryan Thiriot was born and raised in downtown St. George, just steps from Main Street and Dixie High School. Today, he lives in the same family home where he grew up—now with his wife Kathy and their children—making them the fifth generation to call Utah’s Dixie home.

Growing up in a family of six boys, Bryan learned early on the values of hard work, responsibility, and serving others. He credits his parents—both longtime educators and public servants—for shaping his commitment to family, faith, and community.

“They were a close-knit family who were always doing things together.

They represented the kind of safe, respectable family life my parents wanted for us.”
— Marco Rubio, Childhood Family Friend

From Dixie High to National Leadership

A proud graduate of Dixie High School and Dixie College, Bryan earned a degree in Political Science and Communications from Weber State University and a master’s degree from the University of Utah.

He is also an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Leadership Dixie, and served on its leadership board—gaining valuable insight into the unique challenges and opportunities facing Washington County.

A Career in Public Service, Rooted in Results

Bryan served over 15 years working for U.S. Senators Orrin G. Hatch and Bob Bennett, where he focused on transportation, water, public lands, energy, and local economic development. He later became Executive Director of the Five County Association of Governments, where he worked directly with 39 communities across Southern Utah—overseeing programs that supported seniors, families, infrastructure, and long-range community planning.

From managing multi-million-dollar public budgets to helping families access essential services, Bryan built a reputation for principled leadership, results-driven problem-solving, and a commitment to serving the entire community.

Faith, Family, and Community

Bryan’s drive for service goes beyond policy. As an Eagle Scout, a member of the St. George Rotary Club, and an active community volunteer, he leads by example. He’s proud of the legacy his family has built in St. George—and he’s committed to ensuring future generations can enjoy the same opportunities.

Whether helping plant trees along the Virgin River as a Scout or fighting for infrastructure funding as a regional leader, Bryan has always believed in working hard, giving back, and standing up for the people of St. George.

Ready to Serve St. George

Bryan is running for St. George City Council to bring trusted leadership, fiscal responsibility, thoughtful planning, and a renewed sense of decorum to public service. His experience, values, and commitment to the people of St. George make him the kind of representative our city deserves.
